Launchbar scripts10/2/2023 Ultimately, I didn’t go back to LaunchBar… I went to ScriptKit and I have not turned back. ![]() If only I were patient-I did try Raycast for 5 months before giving up. Turns out someone has since made a Raycast extension for that called Open With App. Another missing feature for me was the “Send To”, where I could use a special command to take the selection (often a file in Finder) and choose what app to open it with. I could select what folders were in the Index for LaunchBar, so my search never drilled down to files and folders that were not my active projects. However, the thing that did me in was the file search. Adding a command helped with this significantly. Muscle memory was the hardest thing to overcome-having to invoke an additional key or type a phrase to start searching for files or go through my clipboard history was a pain at first. I did not install LaunchBar in an attempt to force myself to learn it and not revert back within days. I got a new laptop for work in November of last year and decided to try Raycast. I then moved on to LaunchBar when it was no longer supported and never did give Alfred a try. QuickSilver is what made me fall in love with macOS in the first place. I can’t respond to this thread without first pouring one out for QuickSilver. That was really helpful for me! (And it’s nice to know that if the VC funding ever makes Raycast go sideways, I can just port my stuff over to Alfred without any work ). And I don’t blame people for sticking with it. Like I’ve said a few times, Alfred doesn’t need to prove itself. “Growing up with Raycast” is probably why it seems so approachable to me. It was a simple, “Ah, I get it“ and I just started writing in my preferred scripting languages. It took 20 seconds to see the straightforward implementation of both 1) scripts and 2) official extensions. Yes, you can customize the look and tweak every setting, but I just wanted it to look nice and accept my custom scripts. Perhaps my current preference for Raycast has more to do with approachability, marketing, and/or the newness of the app? With Alfred, you can do so much that when I looked into it, I was getting into my own way trying to write my scripts. PS: I have made a post on the Alfred forums, let’s see if they’d consider a consolidated workflow repo like RaycastĪppreciate the feedback! Your post helps me understand why people like Alfred as much as they do and helped me learn some new things about Alfred! ![]() If someone is fine by using an app that might move to subscription model after taking VC funding sometime in the future (like 1Password), I would not wanna invest in it, but to each their ownĮDIT: A few users above mentioned the Raycast workflows page, which I strongly agree is better and consolidated. I think it’s OK for a free product, but I don’t think it comes close to the Alfred in terms of feature and speed and community. They did say they will be making money from corporate licensing but of course, when something is free “You’re Not the Customer You’re the Product” Raycast is good with this with brand promotions and website sponsorships etc.Īlfred focuses on customer privacy and does not have any interest in VC money and unlike Raycast, which is free, but that is too good to be true. But their feature promotion isn’t that good, so most people don’t know about 70% of the features. ![]() That does not mean they are not well documented, they are. Most importantly, Alfred is made by a team of 2 people (maybe 3 max) in contrast to Raycast, which is a bunch of people (15-20 the last time i checked a few months ago).Īlfred does not market their feature well enough. You can use React and Typescript, but also use Python, Go, Ruby, shell etc to make workflows.

Mercedes kompressor cars10/2/2023 ![]() The car is at best terrifying in the wet and in wintry conditions, be very careful especially turning right on roundabouts. The brake lights keep going off, think there is a dodgy connection somewhere and the light on the dashboard which illuminates when there is a bulb out doesn't always go out when you replace the faulty bulb. The only other thing that went wrong was a stud which snapped on the exhaust and was duly replaced, but with my habit of parking on curbs, in fields and on top of traffic islands (I'm a journalist and often need to abandon my car in the most unlikely of places) this isn't surprising! Ok, then so what don't I like about my car? The remote locking is very temperamental - it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I've only needed new tyres and pads to get it through MOTs. I love the power of it, but it was a bit of a shock after my 589cc smart car, which was my first car after passing my test. These cars aren't as good quality as they used to be!īought my little silver SLK for GBP6,800 two years ago which is about the prize of a new Corsa! Ok, it's now 12 years old, but still looks great and turns heads. It would be interesting to find out how many Mercs are scrapped early because they're now too expensive to keep running. The car has been regularly serviced, I have found it to be a great expense and disappointment. ![]() I don't dare take it out again because I fear that it might break down at the side of the road. Recently driving from London to Bristol on M4 started to loose power, obviously running only on 3 cylinders, after a bit longer got worse now down to two, but managed to limp home, awaiting mobile mechanic to fix. MB wanted to fit a new hydraulic pump, megabucks (cost represented about a quarter of the vehicle's value). Had it repaired by a local mobile mechanic, it now works but makes a terrible bang when it goes up and locks into position on the w/screen. Big prob! Solution brute force and ignorance, I enlisted the help of 2 French guys and we physically lifted the roof up and forced it up into position and attempted to lock it into position at the top of the W/screen. On holiday in France one day the retractable roof failed to lift back up. My car(SLK230Kompressor) has been bedevilled with electrical faults. I marked practicality low as lets face it, you can get much in the boot and only a 2 seater but even so after 10 years, this style and model is still my number 1! Get a C180 estate as a second car to take the kids and rubbish to the dump! On that subject, full beam (even without the condensation) is average and greatly improved by fitting HID units. A couple of blown indicator fuses and some condensation in the headlights. ![]() To be critical there has been a slight rattle somewhere in the lid which merc spent 1500 pds not finding! One anoyance is with the exhaust which is SS and still original, but you just have to change the ordinary steel connecting bolts when they rust away. Realiability is second to none, not a single serious problem in 10 years. The ability to raise and lower the lid has never lost its appeal. Performance is great and the traction control can really come in useful some time when pushing it too hard round bends. I was six months old and I have had it for 10 enjoyable years. Other current streaks include Houston (4), Arkansas (3), UCLA (3) and Miami (2).Īmong the 32 teams left in the men’s and women’s bracket, 26 head coaches played at an NCAA school before transitioning to the sidelines to lead the next generation of student-athletes. The streak ranks as the third-longest since 1975 - the first year that all teams in the tournament were required to win at least one game to advance to the Sweet 16 - behind only Duke’s nine straight from 1998-2006 and North Carolina’s 13 in a row from 1981-93. On the men’s side, Gonzaga earned its eighth straight trip to the Sweet 16, the longest active streak. Other active Sweet 16 streaks include Maryland (3), Notre Dame (2) and Tennessee (2). Louisville also extended its consecutive stretch of Sweet 16s to six. South Carolina now holds the second-longest active streak with nine Sweet 16 appearances. Stanford’s streak of 14 consecutive Sweet 16 appearances, which ranked as the second-longest active streak coming into this tournament, ended after the Cardinal were upset by Ole Miss. The UConn women’s team extended its NCAA record of consecutive Sweet 16 appearances to 29 dating back to the 1994 tournament, when the bracket expanded to 64 teams. How to draw a rectangle in expertgps10/2/2023 ![]() You can highlight a section of a track or shape by first clicking on it to select it, and then dragging with the Select Tool across points, or dragging down the length of the selected track. The Home and End keys move the marker to the start and end of the track, respectively. This is really useful if you want to use the Insert Trackpoint command (press the I key, or right-click and select Insert Trackpoint) to insert a new trackpoint between two existing ones. The Up Arrow moves the marker halfway to the prior point, and the Down Arrow moves the marker halfway to the next point. In both cases, the marker will now be exactly on top of a trackpoint. The Right Arrow moves the marker one point closer to the end of the track. Left Arrow moves the marker one trackpoint closer to the beginning of the track. You can use the Arrow Keys to move the marker from one trackpoint to the next. As you move the marker on the map, its position will update in the List and on the Profile. The track marker also appears as an orange triangle in the track's Elevation Profile, and in the Trackpoint List. ![]() If you select a track by dragging across it with the Select tool, the Marker is not set, and you'll have to click on the selected track to set it. ![]() You can right-click and Reverse Track if needed. It appears as an orange triangle, pointing in the direction of travel along the track. The track marker is automatically placed on the track at the point where you clicked to select the track with the Select or Move Map tool. These techniques can be applied to routes and shapes, as well. In the instructions below, I'll refer to Track Marker and Marker interchangably, and Track Selection and Selection interchangably, and talk about working with tracks. The Track Selection allows you to highlight a section of a track or shape in magenta, and apply commands to just the highlighted section of the selected track. You can use the Marker to step through the points in a track one at a time, see your exact speed at any point on the track, compare your position on the map to your elevation on an elevation profile, and to mark the location where you'd like to modify the track (break, split, insert trackpoint, place label.). The Marker, as its name suggests, is an orange triangle that marks your place along a track.
